Diane Harris McFerrin was born and raised in Kentucky, she spent most of her early years in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. In 1989, Diane received a B.A. in Fine Art from Georgetown College. Following graduation, she moved to North Carolina where she received a second degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina in Asheville. Diane began her teaching career at Black Mountain Primary School where she taught for five years.

Bio and Curriculum Vitae
In 2004, she began studying plein air painting with local artist Jim Southerland. Later she took workshops in the River Arts District, Asheville, NC with artists: Mary Farmer, Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch, Rebecca King, Pattie Ann Hale, and Jo Ridge Kelly.
